Accepting these terms

By creating a Roam Keeps account or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use Roam Keeps.

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding agreement where you live. If you use Roam Keeps for an organization or another person, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for them.

Your account

Provide accurate account information, protect your password and connected Google account, and tell Roam Keeps promptly if you believe your account is compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account unless it resulted from Roam Keeps’ failure to use reasonable safeguards.

Keep a verified email or a connected sign-in method current so you can recover access. Roam Keeps may rate-limit, suspend, or close an account when reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats, unlawful conduct, serious or repeated violations of these terms, or risk to other users or the service. When practical, Roam Keeps will explain the reason and provide a chance to resolve it.

Your photos and stories

You retain ownership of content you upload or write. You give Roam Keeps a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, resize, re-encode, display, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the service and to provide the sharing, AI, export, and print features you choose. This licence ends when the content is deleted, subject to the limited retention described in the Privacy Policy and copies already received by others.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to add the content and to use it in the way you select. Respect the privacy, copyright, publicity, and safety of people shown or named in your journal. Do not upload unlawful content or material that seriously invades another person’s privacy.

Roam Keeps may remove or restrict content when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect a person, respond to a valid rights claim, or enforce these terms. Roam Keeps will give notice when legally and practically permitted.

Shared trips and public pages

A trip owner chooses members and roles. Members can see the trip’s memories, and contributors can add content. The owner can remove members, transfer ownership, or delete the entire trip. A companion should keep a separate copy of anything they cannot afford to lose.

Public timelines and keepsakes use readable, guessable addresses. Publishing authorizes Roam Keeps to make the reviewed selection available to anyone who can access its page. Passwords, expiry dates, watermarks, and link revocation reduce access or casual reuse, but they cannot prevent an authorized viewer from downloading, screenshotting, or redistributing content.

You are responsible for reviewing a public page before publishing it and for making sure it does not reveal private information about another person without permission.

AI writing tools

AI suggestions are optional drafts. They can be inaccurate, generic, or inappropriate and may misidentify a place. Review and edit every suggestion before using or publishing it. Roam Keeps does not automatically save or publish generated text, and an AI suggestion is not professional advice or a statement of fact.

Paid features and printed products

Some features may require a paid plan or a separate purchase. The price, currency, included features, shipping charge, taxes, and any renewal terms shown at purchase form part of the agreement. Stripe processes payment, and a print partner may manufacture and ship a personalized product.

When subscriptions are available, Roam Keeps Plus renews at the interval and price shown at checkout. Use Account settings → Plan → Manage billing to cancel renewal. Plus remains available through the paid period, then the account returns to Free unless another Plus grant applies. Your existing memories remain readable and basic export remains available. Deleting your account cancels its subscription immediately. Contact us about payment problems or refund requests; cancelling a subscription does not itself issue a refund.

Review names, photos, crop, layout, print size, and delivery details before ordering. Screen colour and crop can differ from a physical print, and delivery estimates are estimates. If an order arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from the approved design, use the contact form promptly with the order number so Roam Keeps can review a replacement or other remedy with the print provider.

Personalized products may not be cancellable after production has started. Any checkout-specific cancellation or refund terms will be shown before payment. Nothing in these terms limits a mandatory consumer right or remedy that applies where you live.

Acceptable use

Do not use Roam Keeps to:

• break the law or another person’s legal rights;
• harass, exploit, impersonate, or endanger another person;
• publish intimate, abusive, or highly sensitive material without permission;
• upload malware or interfere with Roam Keeps’ security or operation;
• probe accounts, storage, or access controls without written authorization;
• scrape, resell, or overload the service; or
• circumvent plan, usage, sharing, or security limits.

Availability, backups, and changes

Roam Keeps is provided with reasonable care, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Features can change as the product develops. Roam Keeps will give reasonable notice before a material change that removes a paid feature during its paid term, unless an urgent legal or security issue requires faster action.

Roam Keeps keeps operational backups and offers an account export, but it is not an archival guarantee. Keep your original photos and another copy of content that is irreplaceable. Third-party services such as Google, OpenAI, Stripe, and Prodigi are also governed by their own terms and can experience outages.

Legal limits

To the extent permitted by law, Roam Keeps is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded. Roam Keeps is not responsible for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable.

Where liability can lawfully be limited, Roam Keeps’ total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Roam Keeps during the 12 months before the event or CA$100. These limits do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, infringement caused by Roam Keeps, or liability that applicable law does not allow Roam Keeps to limit.

Ending your use

You may stop using Roam Keeps at any time and can permanently delete your account from Account & privacy after resolving active shared-trip ownership or print-order requirements. Deletion and backup retention are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Provisions that by their nature should continue—including ownership, payment obligations, legal limits, and dispute terms—survive the end of your account.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without taking away mandatory rights you have under the law where you live. Before filing a claim, please contact Roam Keeps and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the concern. A court with jurisdiction may hear any unresolved dispute.

Roam Keeps may update these terms as the service changes. The effective date will be updated, and a material change will be announced in the service or by email before it takes effect when required. If you do not accept a change, stop using Roam Keeps and delete your account before the new terms take effect.
